I am a solicitor who qualified in 1997. Since then I have practised in the fields of business and individual dispute resolution, and have particular expertise in personal injury, medical negligence cases and contentious probate cases.  I am passionate about a pro-active approach to resolution, saving time, stress and money.

I am a particular fan of mediation as a way of settling cases that have until that point looked destined to go all the way to a trial.  In most of those cases my clients thought there was little chance of settlement and only agreed to mediate after some persuasion.  Mediation outcomes are almost never the prefect solution for either party, but offer closure and allow people to move on.  As a lawyer people sometimes think you encourage disputes, but I always look for the solution, and in fact the rules governing civil law disputes state that the lawyers must try to resolve cases as efficiently and cheaply as possible.

So, my motivation is all about ending your legal dispute, something which gives me great satisfaction.  It doesn't always work, but it does most of the time - and it's almost always better than the alternative.
